IT Analyst Senior, Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

The University of Virginia Medical Center is seeking an IT Analyst Senior, Business Intelligence (BI) Developer at its Charlottesville, Virginia location. This role is responsible for using the enterprise's data to design, create and maintain analyses and business intelligence reports in support of clinical, business and research operations at the UVA Health System. Successful candidates will contribute to the BI team's mission of selecting, making available and optimizing business intelligence tools for the enterprise. In addition, the role will collaborate with the larger Analytics and Reporting Team to provide advice and requirements for data modeling, predictive analytics, data visualization and data governance. Duties include utilizing tools such as SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS, SAP Crystal Reports, Reporting Workbench, Tableau, Epic Extract Framework to build business intelligence solutions; performing analysis of data sources, business processes and data mining to understand the nuances, integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the data; adhering to specific development and departmental best practices and quality standards, including performance tuning and general query optimization, and have an understanding of schema design, indexing, and referential integrity; and consulting with all levels of users to help them solve problems regarding the use and management of data as well as work on design, maintenance, and completion of highly visible organizational projects, creating efficient solutions.
Requirements: Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, or related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of related information technology experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline. Must also possess working knowledge of each of the following technical skills: SQL Server; MySQL; SSRS; Crystal Reports; SSIS; Epic's Reporting Workbench; Programming including C#.Net, VB.Net, OR Python. Also requires Epic Data Model Certifications, including Epicare Ambulatory, Optime, and Resolute Hospital Billing.
