The Associate Director and/or Senior Associate Director, Cancer Programs will be responsible for:
- identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects and donors
- seeking gifts of $100,000 and above
- identifying prospective patient donors and to create appropriate fundraising strategies
- possessing a command of cultural sensitivity and value and embrace cultural, political, and social differences which will contribute to an environment that encourages diversity, equity, and inclusion
- working collaboratively with colleagues to staff a broad range of UVA Health priorities
- using thoughtful approaches, sound judgment, high emotional intelligence, empathy and ability to relate to individuals whose lives have been impacted by health experiences
- possessing attention to detail as well as excellent communication skills to translate scientific concepts for the layperson
The successful candidate will be an experienced professional who will help UVA Health achieve its fundraising goals. The incumbent will primarily work with patients and families who make gifts in gratitude for the care they received at UVA. In partnership with development colleagues across Grounds, the Associate/Senior Associate Director, Cancer Programs will work with alumni, parents and friends across the University with an interest in health.
Qualified candidates must have bachelor's degree in a related field. Three years of fundraising or related experience is required.
