The Plumber will work as a maintenance craftsman as assigned to keep water lines, sewer lines, and other plumbing systems and fixtures in proper repair. This includes finding and clearing line blockages, locating, and repairing leaks, and keeping plumbing fixtures in good working order. This position is responsible for responding to work requests within the UTC Housing inventory of buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repairs on bathroom and kitchen service lines, drains, and fixtures; keep plumbing supply and drain lines in good repair and working order; assist other craftsmen and maintenance mechanics in performing various duties.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
· Ability to perform repetitive plumbing and piping installation, maintenance, and repair work.
· Ability to manually dig and carry heavy, cumbersome objects.
· Ability to work from ladder and in low, confined spaces.
· Knowledge of and skills to utilize hand tools, power tools, and associated specialized plumbing tools and equipment.
· Knowledge and skill to use chemical compounds.
· Knowledge and skill to use "pro-press" tools and supplies.
· Ability to use "pipe freezing" equipment.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; and 3-5 years of experience working as a plumber.
Preferred Qualifications: Vocational or technical training; Journeyman plumber level competency.
