Required License/Registration/Certification

Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician by either PTCB ( PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT); Registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

Physical Requirements

This position requires use of a computer workstation, completion of tasks with repetitive motions, and occasional pushing, pulling, and/or lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds. This position may require personnel to wear personal protective equipment to reduce risk of exposure to work-related hazards (e.g. handling of hazardous medications).

Shift

Primarily Monday thru Friday; 8am to 4pm.

Job Summary

This position will provide a variety of pharmacy services including obtaining prior authorizations, enrolling patients' in financial support programs, and coordinating first-time dispenses and refills for oncology medications prescribed within UK HealthCare. You will work closely with nurses, physicians, and UK Specialty Pharmacy staff to improve medication access for patients seen in the Markey Cancer Center.

The starting pay for this position was recently adjusted. The minimum hourly rate for this position will now be $18.50/hour. All pay rates will be based on the candidate's experience.

This position is eligible for a recruitment bonus. Additional details will be provided during the hiring process should your application be selected to move forward.

Associate or bachelor's degree and hospital and/or retail pharmacy technician experience preferred.
