Communications Manager
The Women’s Initiative is seeking a Communications Manager to lead the agency’s communications strategy to ensure alignment with our mission, vision and strategic priorities. The Communications Manager develops and implements creative and measurable communications and marketing plans that seek to reduce mental health stigma and promote the agency’s counseling, social support and education programs. This role is part time, with the potential for full time, and is responsible for marketing, public relations, publications, digital/social media, website management, graphic design, media relations, and supports the development of compelling and effective grant proposals. This role is a key adviser to staff and leadership and collaborates across administrative and clinical teams to provide a consistent voice for the agency. The Communications Manager is a relationship builder who engages with all constituent groups, including board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters. This position reports to the Deputy Director. Some administrative duties are also part of this role.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Excellent writing/editing skills with an ability to write creatively and persuasively, and effectively convey key messages
Exceedingly well organized, confident communicator and presenter, fully supportive of the mission of The Women’s Initiative
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or a combination of equivalent education and experience is required
5+ years of highly related experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or media relations is preferred
Proficiency in Spanish is preferred
