Description:

To work under the direction of and in collaboration with the Human Resources Officer to provide training to retail operation employees of the Bank and to provide oversight and support to the Human resources training administration function. To assist in fostering a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages individual integrity and promotes corporate values. Assist in fostering an environment which advances diversity, equity and inclusion. To serve as an Operations Trainer for the Bank with all duties assigned, serve as a contact for operational related issues or questions, fill in as Teller and or Relationship Banker as needed. To meet the needs of the customers of the bank in a professional, confidential, efficient, courteous and prompt manner. To remain familiar with all bank products, fees and related services.

Duties:

  • To train new hires and newly promoted employees in the positions of Teller, Vault and Head Teller and Relationship Banker positions. To review, develop, apply and make recommendations for the associated training manuals for these positions. To partner with and use as a resource the Retail Operations Officer to learn operations training, changes, and new developments that need to be added to the training programs.
  • To administer the Bank’s Training Program. To prepare and publish the Annual Training Calendar and keep all required records of training. To administer the ABA Training Software and make all training assignments in a timely manner. To assist as needed with the administration of the Bank’s Mentorship Program and other training activities.
  • To assist Human Resources with employee engagement and development as well as sourcing training and developmental opportunities through the VACB, VBA, and others
  • To serve as a back up for onboarding new employees and coordinating new hire training with Compliance, Branch Administration and Staffing.
  • To serve as Teller and/or Relationship Banker when necessary.
  • To serve as a contact, both internally and with customers for operational issues.
  • Willingness to abide by all Personnel, Operational, Lending, Information Technology, Robbery and other related policies as adopted by the Board of Directors.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assignment of Committees as Needed
  • Attend Head Teller and Relationship Banker meetings.

  • Above average knowledge of fundamental banking and operations.
  • General knowledge of Teller, Head Teller and Relationship Banker operations, duties, and responsibilities.
  • Above average knowledge of fundamental arithmetic.
  • Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills, including the ability to speak and write in a clear and understandable and professional manner
  • Advanced Computer Skills that include proficiency in the suite of Microsoft Office Products and the Bank’s Core Processing System.
  • Strong organizational and managerial skills. Maintain a neat work area.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to meet the public well and to deal effectively with their questions and problems. Good decision-making abilities and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to further develop skills through education and training opportunities.
