Acts as lead mechanic, while working under limited supervision; Participates in project work and responds to other requests submitted by the Director of Maintenance. ¨ Ability to manage and oversee various trades on a daily basis, while following oral and written directions and working well with others; ¨ Ability to manage, coordinate and execute multiple trades in completion of their task; ¨ Procures and manages outside contractors as required; ¨ Assists in managing the Maintenance Department mechanics to increase efficiency and balance work load; ¨ Assists in organizing and prioritizing work orders; ¨ Researches and locates parts and equipment, using technical manuals, vendor references and appropriate internet searches; ¨ Follows and uses project specifications, building operations and maintenance manuals and project drawings; ¨ Maintains adequate inventory of supplies, equipment and tools for all trades; ¨ Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase safety and efficiency; ¨ Arrange and organize training program for mechanics as needed; ¨ Arrange and perform safety training as required by VOSH; ¨ Must possess a valid Virginia Driver’s License, with the ability to obtain a Class A CDL license; ¨ Must be able to meet the criteria for the Rockingham County Public Schools approved drivers list.
