Office Manager – Men’s and Women’s Basketball
James Madison University Athletics is seeking applications for an Office Manager for the Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs with an anticipated start date in late February. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with the Head Coaches of each program, develops, analyzes and manages the annual basketball program budgets, with the Head Coach having ultimate oversight of the budget
- Responsible for payment processing, posting budget entries, and reconciling each programs budget on a monthly basis
- Provide supervision to a wage employee that assists with budgetary responsibilities
- Processes travel reimbursements within ChromeRiver for all basketball staffs in a timely manner, ensuring that all reimbursements are made in accordance with State, University, and NCAA guidelines
- As needed, provides secondary support to the Director of Operations with hotel reservations and contracts.
- Assists Director of Operations with hotels, meals, and reimbursements for Potential Student Athletes and their families
- Provides primary administrative support to both the Head Men’s and Women’s Basketball Coaches, their staffs and the entirety of the JMU Basketball Programs
- Serve as the public relations representative and liaison between the basketball programs and various university offices, the conference, alumni/donors, outside organizations, the local community, and all PSAs as well as their families
- Oversees any special projects as assigned by the head coaches
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced typing/data entry skills and computer knowledge
- A basic understanding of accounting, accounts payable and budget procedures for budget development and maintenance.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
- Proven experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, and a demonstrated proficiency with Excel
- Good reasoning and analytical skills
- Interpersonal and leadership skills
- A positive, flexible, and willing attitude
- The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with eVA or another procurement portal
- Experience processing travel reimbursements, specifically within ChromeRiver
- Previous working experience within an athletic department
