James Madison University Libraries seeks applicants for a qualified Learning Innovations & Design (LID) Services Coordinator. The successful candidate will help build a new approach for service coordination across teams that support educational technology and instructional design services. The position will coordinate LID service pathways (both virtual and physical), supervise and hire a team of student employees tasked with supporting LID service pathways, and provide general coordination for educational technology instruction. This position works in close collaboration with Libraries’ teams to maintain a shared standard of service at all library service points and to respond effectively to diverse user needs, especially as related to the teaching and learning needs of the JMU community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate LID service point operations. Recruit, hire and serve as the primary point of supervision for approximately 10-15 student staff employees.
- Provide coordination, scheduling, and training for all levels of staff supporting the LID service point. Work service point shifts to provide direct user support through participation in virtual and in-person service pathways.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with employees, delegate tasks appropriately, and coordinate staffing coverage to fill shifts.
- Provide administrative coordination for planning processes for educational technology and related instruction.
- Support and encourage equitable, inclusive service offerings and contribute to fostering welcoming and accessible spaces to all users.
- Demonstrate a curiosity and openness to new approaches to service delivery to meet varied user needs and experiences.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and ability to develop and maintain policies and procedures for services and instruction.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, organize the work of self and others, meet deadlines, and work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Intermediate computing skills including proficiency with software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Articulated ability to help foster an inclusive and equitable work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of service point and referral management best practices.
- Knowledge of instruction concepts and an academic learning environment.
- Experience and/or knowledge of university systems and procedures.
- Ability to manage data and statistics to create reports.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff and students.
- Knowledge and/or experience with both Mac and Windows systems.
