Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: We are looking for passionate, detail-oriented professionals like you to join our Accounting department. As a Loan Accountant, you will experience all aspects of German American Bank’s culture and values while working with various team members. An outstanding commitment to accuracy and detail is necessary as you flex your analytical skills, maintain financial records and documentation, prepare various reports and so much more. What You’ll Do: The Daily Grind – As a Loan Accountant you will be responsible for a range of duties including performing financial analysis of monthly and quarterly variances, prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations, preparing various reports for internal use and management review, participate in quarterly allowance for credit losses calculation, and loan reporting for SEC and regulatory filing. You’re Part of a Team – You are a member of the Accounting team. This role offers amazing insight into the world of banking behind the scenes and our local operations. And you have to be able to juggle – Multiple and conflicting priorities will come up under specific time constraints. In concert with your leader and other team members, you have to be quick to act when issues arise. What it Takes: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Attention to detail and ability to work well in teams and individually. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to: communicate effectively (written and verbally), maintain confidentiality, work with speed and accuracy, grasp technical information quickly, and work independently and as a team member. Responsible for adhering to compliance laws, regulations, and established Bank policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering.
