The Ride Director is responsible for daily operations and end to end event planning for Ride the Rockies– one of the longest running bicycle tours in the country. A strong candidate will have extensive endurance event experience that includes working with local, regional, and statewide officials on the safe operation of events and familiarity with the operation of bicycling events on public roads. Preference is given to those who can adapt and work well with others in a fast-paced environment. Travel will be required, and the candidate must reside in the State of Colorado.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing the vision for the event in conjunction with the senior leadership team and Cycling Division staff and ensuring events are operating efficiently while maintaining a high brand and participant experience standard
- Driving sponsorships locally for the event while also managing and growing relationships with each town
- Managing route selection, permitting, overnight and pass-through town planning, and Public Safety/EMS/Law Enforcement logistics and coordination
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with third parties, public agencies and municipalities, state, and Federal governments to coordinate the production of events
- Building and documenting event schedules and timelines, IAPs, operations manuals, site plans, and other materials
- Representing RTR to all stakeholders at events, media appearances, and in local communications
- Reporting operational, financial, and other updates to the leadership team; managing events within a set operating budget
- Overseeing a diverse team of staff, contractors, crew, and volunteers, maintaining and deploying equipment and materials, and identifying efficiencies of operations
- The candidate will work with the Ventures Endurance Cycling Division and Ventures Endurance staff on other events as needed or required
Required Skills
- Proven attention to detail with ability to multitask and meet deadlines, ability to hold oneself accountable
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and customer service skills, comfortable with public speaking
- Strong analytical mindset and approach to managing projects and problem solving
- Leader who can build a strong team atmosphere
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and online mapping tools, including Ride with GPS & Ride Spot
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $68,400 and $161,000. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
