International Project Manager
Title: International Project Manager
Base Salary: $70k+1.5 times salary outside U.S.
Base location: High Point, N.C. - with 100 to 150 days a year traveling outside the United States
Job Summary: The International Project Manager is responsible for overseeing international coating and inspection projects. Key areas of responsibility include developing and maintaining a strong partnership with co-workers and clients, overseeing and scheduling project operations to deliver successful water tank cleaning, inspection and coatings projects anywhere in the world.
Key Responsibilities:
Grow the client partnership
- Attend client progress meetings and give feedback for continual improvement of the contract
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key client personnel including facility managers, engineers and staff
Oversee International Project Operations
- Plan project and coordinate complex international logistics to get equipment and materials to the jobsite
- Lead/manage production team on site to ensure successful surface preparation and coating application in underground water tanks
- Oversee jobsite safety in countries with limited rescue and medical capabilities
- Develop approved safety plan for each project, comply with client requirements for safety and maintain a good relationship with safety officers at each location
- Responsible for the completion of all safety and daily project reports
- Execute the proven process and give feedback for continuous improvement
Project Scheduling
- Coordinate with client and the operations manager to develop a project schedule
- Establish and communicate benchmark dates with administrative staff for logistics, visas, flights and hotels
- Minimize schedule extensions through problem solving, efficient task management, coordination with client and improved processes
Other Duties
- Provide leadership, training, and technical expertise throughout the organization for the development of team leaders
- Assist N.C. based production team and conduct site visits to assess and propose projects
- 5 years of coatings project management experience
- Minimum AMPP CIP Level 1 or SSCP Coating Concrete Inspector Level 1
- Ability to manage complex, technical coating system applications, sequence tasks for efficiency, manage budgets in multiple currencies, overcome cultural differences and work long hours
- Competency with Microsoft Office, Gannt charts, budgeting and online forms application
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), carry paint, handle equipment, pressure wash, sandblast, apply coatings, wear required personal protective equipment, climb ladders, bending, standing, stoop, climbing or walking
- Exposure to noise, moving machinery, dust, elevated heights, confined spaces, fumes, gases and chemicals
