Maintenance TechnicianBuckingham County
The County of Buckingham is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time salaried position with County benefits. This position is under the supervision of the General Properties
Manager to provide maintenance to all county facilities. The minimum requirements are a valid Virginia Drivers License, High School Diploma or equivalent, proficient use of computers (Microsoft word, email, spreadsheets, automated controls and computer-based work order systems) and extensive knowledge of maintenance procedures in a commercial/industrial setting along with knowledge in standards of workplace safety practices. Knowledge in plumbing, electrical, HVAC repairs, as well as routine maintenance, is necessary. Proficiency with tools and powered equipment is necessary and must understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Must possess or be able to get an EPA 608 universal refrigerant certification. This position will require the ability to perform heavy manual labor, lift 100 pounds, climb 50 ft. ladder, and push/pull 200 lbs. Must be capable to work in extreme heat and cold. Certifications in any building trades and work experience in the commercial maintenance field is desired. An applicant must be able to have a satisfactory criminal background and drug tests before acceptance of this position.
