About this Opportunity

University College at Ball State University welcomes applications for the position of Student Success Coach from individuals who are passionate about assisting undergraduate students in their journey of discovery and persistence to degree completion.

Working under the direction of the Director of Student Success Initiatives, the student success coach will manage an assigned caseload of students and provide comprehensive academic coaching and student success strategies.

Position Function

This position will coach, mentor, and guide high-priority, high-need students to include academically at-risk students through a caseload support model. This position will provide comprehensive academic coaching and student success strategies to help students maintain academic progress and timely degree completion, ensure appropriate and accurate academic records, execute departmental/divisional administrative policies, and use judgement and discretion appropriately.

Minimum Education

Master's degree from an accredited institution by date of employment.

Minimum Experience

One year of experience in academic advising, student services, counseling, academic coaching, or related field.

Minimum Other

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Education

Preferred Experience

At least three years of experience in academic advising, student services, counseling, or related field in higher education; familiarity with Ball State curriculum; familiarity with Banner and Degree Works. A Board Certified Coach credential or International Coaching Federation recognized Certification Program.

Preferred Other

Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and administration; ability to identify barriers to students success and facilitate effective remedies; ability to synthesize information and prioritize goals; ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal platforms; ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for diversity; ability to utilize advising software tools.
