Description

The Center for Information and Communication Sciences a full-time tenure track position available beginning in August 2024. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in some combination of topics from the following domains of expertise. Candidates should speak to the domains of expertise which they are prepared to teach in the cover letter.
  • MIS: Management Sciences, Decision Sciences, Information Sciences, Product Management, Project Management, Program Management, Portfolio Management, Human Communications, Strategic Planning
  • Analytics: Database Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Visualization, etc.
  • Enterprise Technologies: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), etc.
  • Cloud Technologies: Cloud Services, Cloud Development, Cloud Architect, Cloud Administration, etc.
  • Human Computer Interaction: UI/UX Experience, Usability Testing, Design Thinking, etc.
CICS faculty are expected to maintain active relationships with industry which drive collaborations resulting in faculty, student, and Center opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in one or more of the following fields: Information Technology, Data Science and Analytics, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or Human-Computer Interaction from an accredited institution. At least two years experience teaching at a college/university level. Demonstrated scholarship as evidenced by at least one article in a peer-reviewed academic journal.

Authorization to work in the US

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

At least ten years of technology-related professional experience in a relevant business and technical field. Demonstrated scholarship as evidenced by at least five articles in a peer-reviewed academic journal. The ideal candidate will be able to teach courses in current technologies including some combination of topics from the following domains of expertise (certifications are optional, but preferred).
  • MIS: Management Sciences, Decision Sciences, Information Sciences, Product Management, Project Management, Program Management, Portfolio Management, Human Communications, Strategic Planning. (Potential Certifications: PMP, ITIL, PMI)
  • Analytics: Database Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Visualization. (Potential Certification: Cloudera, aCAP, CAP, Oracle, Microsoft)
  • Enterprise Technologies: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), etc. (Potential Certification: Oracle SaaS, SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft) Cloud Technologies: Cloud Services, Cloud Development, Cloud Architect, Cloud Administration, etc. (Potential Certifications: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud)
  • Human Computer Interaction: UI/UX Experience, Usability Testing, Design Thinking
Ability to manage multiple projects within and outside of classroom environment; ability to provide advising and career development for a diverse graduate student population; ability to qualify for graduate faculty status at the rank of assistant/associate professor. A history of leadership in either higher education or industry.
